Bringing a Thailand Massage to South Africa.

People all over the world believe that the benefits of a proffesional Thai massage provides lowering massive levels of stress, boosting low energy, and improve top athletic performance abilities.

Thai massage uses gentle pressure and stretching techniques to relax the whole body. This is an ancient healing practice that originated in India. It dates back to around 2,500–7,000 years ago.

The technique that Thai massage practitioners use is very different from what people in the West may be accustomed to. Unlike Swedish or shiatsu massage techniques, in which a person passively lies on a bed, the client lies on the floor and participates more actively in the massage.

This article will look at the benefits of Thai massage, how it can help athletes, and some of the side effects that people may experience.

Thai massage, also known as Thai Yoga Massage, is an ancient spiritual healing art, not just a physical therapy. It has deep roots in traditional Thai Medicine, Buddhism, and Yoga. Thai massage embraces  a holistic viewpoint of treating, the whole person, not just a particular body part or system. It stimulates the healing energies within the body through a beautiful blend of massage, therapeutic stretching, acupressure, reflexology, and meditation.

Thai massage theory maintains that there are invisible energy channels or pathways in our body. These pathways are called Sen lines. This is similar to the  Chinese medicine theory of meridiens. Our vital life energy or life force flow throw these channels. In Thai massage this energy is called “lom”, which means “wind”. Names for this life energy in other healing modalities include Prana, Chi, or Ki.

Due to physical injuries, bad posture, dysfunctional movement patterns, stress, emotional trauma, poor diet and more, this energy can get trapped or blocked, which causes disease. The primary goal of Thai Massage is to stimulate the flow of energy along the Sen lines to release these blockages so that the body can heal itself. This results in balance and harmony within the physical body, the energy field, the mind, the emotions, and the spirit.
